IV International Conference Cultura y Ciudad: Communicating Architecture. From the origins of modernity to the digital age

The Architectural History Department at Universidad de Granada (Spain) is glad to announce the call for contributions of the IV International Conference Cultura y Ciudad, which will take place in Granada from January 24 to 26, 2024. The theme for this edition is: “Communicating Architecture. From the origins of modernity to the digital age”.

The research committee will evaluate proposals focused on the following thematic blocks:

  1. Journals, books, texts: Written communication.
  2. Photography, cinema, advertising: Visual communication.
  3. To conserve, to order, to disseminate: Archives, museums, and exhibitions.
  4. Architecture in the age of digital communication.

Contributions are welcome from researchers affiliated to universities, research institutions, and independent researchers. At this stage, proponents are invited to send abstracts directly related to one of the four thematic blocks, written either in Spanish or English, with a maximum length of 500 words. All abstracts will be subjected to peer review. Authors of selected submissions will be contacted by the organizing committee and invited to submit a full conference paper.

Deadline for receiving abstracts is 24 March 2023. Contributions will be submitted through the Conference website (link)
Full papers will be presented in person during the conference and included in the Proceedings volume. All registered participants will receive a printed copy of the Proceedings at the registration desk.
