CALL FOR HOSTING THE 2028 EAHN BIENNIAL CONFERENCE

Since 2010, the European Architectural History Network has organised a major international conference every second year. The biennial conferences offer the chance to bring together scholars in the field from all over the world and have played a leading role in consolidating and promoting architectural history research in Europe and overseas. These are major meetings, or conferences, held on even years and alternating with a complimentary programme of smaller thematic international meetings.

After the biennial conferences held in Guimarães (2010), Brussels (2012), Turin (2014), Dublin (2016), Tallin (2018), Edinburgh (2021), Madrid (2022) and Athens (2024), the next biennial conference will be held in Aarhus in 2026. The EAHN is now looking for academics and institutions willing to host the following biennial conference in 2028. The main purpose of the biennial conference is to map the general state of research in disciplines related to the built environment, to promote discussion of current themes and concerns, and to foster new directions for research in the field.

The application should be addressed to the EAHN Board (secretary@eahn.org) by 10 January 2026, in time for discussion at the EAHN Winter 2026 Business Meeting.
