Learnings/Unlearnings:
Environmental learning, spatial design, and participatory pedagogies within institutions and beyond

Dates: 3–5 September 2026 | Location: London, UK

This conference, developed in collaboration between the London School of Architecture, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and University of the Arts London, builds on the Learnings/Unlearnings proceedings held in Stockholm in 2024. It aims to bring together diverse voices to explore the links between environmental learning, spatial practices and pedagogy, and raise awareness of what is needed for these ideas and practices to thrive.

Conference strands
Institutional space: Learning, architecture, and material cultures within formal educational settings
Edge conditions: Collaborative and participatory practices at the margins of institutions
Civic space: Grassroots and community-led approaches to environmental learning beyond institutional boundaries
