Call for Junior Fellows for the EAHN Communications

Position: Junior Fellow (2 positions in the EAHN)
Duration: 1 year (subject to extension)
Start date: June 2026
Application deadline: 31 May 2026

2 Junior Fellow positions

The EAHN invites applications for 2 Junior Fellow positions from engaged doctoral fellows interested in combining architectural history with digital communication, graphic culture, and dissemination of research and activities.

Begun in 2021, EAHN Junior Fellowship aims to facilitate the participation of young scholars in the network’s organisation and in academic life. These fellowships are awarded annually to PhD candidates who demonstrate a commitment to EAHN’s mission to provide a public forum for the exchange and dissemination of knowledge of the histories of architecture.

The EAHN is committed to introducing Junior Fellows to the EAHN Council and to fostering exchange between Junior Fellows and senior members of the network. Through this programme, Junior Fellows gain insight into how an international organisation such as the EAHN operates and develop an understanding of the diverse career paths and research specialisms available to architectural historians in Europe and beyond. We offer an honorarium to selected candidates.

We are looking for a fellow who is:

  • Affiliated with an international university and currently admitted to a doctoral programme in architectural history or a closely related field;
  • Demonstrably interested in communication, information design, and graphic design;
  • Motivated to contribute to the visibility and public presence of an international scholarly network;
  • Experienced with platforms such as WordPress, Adobe Creative, Mailchimp, and social media management tools;
  • Experienced or willing to develop skills in digital archiving, information design, dataset creation, website management, social media communication, and visual identity development.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates who would like to explore how research in architectural history can be communicated through innovative digital and visual means.

Responsibilities

EAHN Fellows will contribute to the network’s communication and outreach activities through:

  • Coordinate communication materials in consultation with the network’s communications lead.
