Heritages 2027 – UNESCO Perspectives on Cultural Pasts and Urban Futures

This University of Porto conference marks the 55th anniversary of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention. It explores changing ideas of heritage across art, architecture, history, museums, digital culture, tourism, sustainability and communities, bringing interdisciplinary perspectives to cultural pasts and urban futures.

Abstract deadline: December 10, 2026

Organised by AMPS and the University of Porto, in collaboration with the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA), the conference has a number of strands.

Themes of specific interest to the University of Porto and IPCA include Museums & Archives; Technology & Digital Art; Cultural & Material Heritage; the Politics of Memory and Sustainability. On the other hand, broad thematic areas of particular interest to AMPS include Art & Architectural History; Global Histories; Societies & Cultures; Art & Design.
