Het Nieuwe Instituut (former Netherlands Architecture Institute, now merged with the Design Institute) and Iconic Houses Network present a lecture session on the opportunities and dilemmas of making exhibitions in house museums. Henry Urbach is invited, since 2012 director of The Glass House, deisgned by architect Philip Johnson. He quickly built a series of fantastic exhibitions in and around the house and talks about his ambitions, projects and experiences. He talks to Job Meihuizen, curator of the exhibition ‘Richard Hutten at the Sonneveld House’ about making exhibitions in house museums.Museum Houses in recent years have dramatically overturned the helm for a dynamic programming with trendsetting exhibitions in the field of art and design. Where major museums struggling art, design and decor in a room able to present that cross-disciplinary relating precisely to the museum’s own home. Increasingly museum housing experiment with that data, and explore opportunities to tell which extend beyond the house and its inhabitants.
