For our regular DocTalks sessions, we welcome any topic within the broad fields of architectural history and its related disciplines. You may also propose to host a full session by submitting a proposal that includes two presentations and the names of two respondents.
On top of our regular DocTalks sessions, we are excited to launch a new collaboration: DocTalks x Manazir, with Manazir – Platform for the Study of Visual Arts, Architecture and Heritage in the Middle East and North Africa!
For DocTalks x Manazir, we are seeking presentation proposals focused on research into art and architecture in the MENA region from 1800 to the present. As the name Manazir implies, we welcome presentations that consider multiple perspectives on space and spatial production, from the built to the represented, the destroyed and the imagined. We are particularly interested in transmedial research that engages with recurring themes of the region, including migration, memory, protest, climate, and identity, as well as tradition, craft, and the material practices that carry them.
DocTalks aims to foster an inclusive and equitable environment of open exchange for everyone involved without regard to race, religion, gender, disability, age, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
