Applications are invited for a full-time Lectureship in Architectural History. Consideration may also be given to appointing at Senior Lecturer level dependant on the experience and calibre of applicant. The successful applicant will teach architectural history and theory within the BA/MA (Hons) Architecture and the MA (Hons) Architectural History degrees, and have a specialism in the history of 20th-century architecture.
S/he will also have the ability to supervise postgraduate research students and have a strong research record through academic publications. The main teaching contribution in the first year will involve the delivery of lectures in the first-year architectural history survey course and the second-year urban history course. In subsequent years, the successful applicant will be expected to offer honours-level options in the history and theory of architecture and take a leading role in developing and delivering a new postgraduate master’s programme in the history and theory of architecture.
A postgraduate qualification in architectural history at the level of PhD is essential. Consideration will be given to the present stage of the successful applicant’s academic career and potential. S/he will have the skills and drive to contribute to the School’s vigorous, cross-disciplinary research culture.
