Opening hours: Tue-Fri 11-18:30, Sun-Mo 13-17:00In der weltweiten Auseinandersetzung mit neuen Strategien für die Gestaltung und Umsetzung zukunftsweisender Wohnformen spielt die Stadt Wien mit ihren innovativen Ideen besonders im sozialen Wohnbau seit jeher eine Vorreiterrolle. Gezeigt werden Projekte, die für neue Möglichkeiten stehen, modellhafte Architektur zu schaffen und Fortschritte im Wohnbau einer modernen Metropole zu erzielen. Mit dem Blick hinter die Fassaden des Wiener Wohnbaus hoffen die Kuratoren Wolfgang Förster und William Menking, international allen am Planungs- und Entwurfsprozess Beteiligten Anregungen zu geben, wie sie anhand des „Wiener Modells“ Ansätze in der Auseinandersetzung mit Wohnbau weiterentwickeln können.

In the global discussion of new strategies for the design and implementation of future-oriented forms of housing, the city of Vienna has consistently been at the vanguard with its innovative ideas, especially in the realm of social housing. The exhibition showcases projects, which represent new possibilities to create exemplary architecture and advance housing in a modern metropolis. Looking behind the façades of Viennese housing the curators Wolfgang Förster and William Menking hope to give those who are involved in the design and planning process around the world impulses on how to develop approaches to housing based on the “Vienna Model”.
