Job: Research Assist­ant, Psy­cho­logy of Archi­tec­ture. Technische Universität Berlin

The PhD pos­i­tion lays the found­a­tion for a new research area in psy­cho­logy of archi­tec­ture. This includes the pre­par­a­tion of a dis­ser­ta­tion at the inter­face between archi­tec­ture and psy­cho­logy, the­ory and philo­sophy. The pos­i­tion fur­ther devel­ops the know­ledge of the psy­cho­lo­gical found­a­tions of archi­tec­ture and makes them applic­able for plan­ning and design. Psy­cho­logy of archi­tec­ture adresses the know­ledge of the com­plex effects of archi­tec­ture, city and envir­on­ment on the psy­cho­lo­gical and phys­ical well-being of humans. Its focus is on the ana­lysis of the inter­sub­ject­ive rela­tion­ships between humans and archi­tec­ture, with regard to the emo­tional, physiolo­gical and action-motiv­at­ing pro­cesses of human beha­vior.
Require­ments: Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in archi­tec­ture and/or psy­cho­logy. Rel­ev­ant exper­i­ence in aca­demic research. Exper­i­ence in the field of archi­tec­tural design is also wel­come. Very good Ger­man and/or Eng­lish skills (oral and writ­ten). Abil­ity to work in a team is required.
