PhD funding: fully-funded PhD fellowships in Art History. The University of Oregon

The Department of the History of Art and Architecture at the University of Oregon is home to a rich variety of research in the history, theory, and criticism of visual and material culture from antiquity to the present day. We welcome graduate students in all areas of art and architectural history.
Current faculty research clusters include:

  • the Americas
  • architecture and urbanism
  • East Asia
  • the Mediterranean world
  • modern and contemporary art
  • museum and curatorial studies

The University of Oregon is located in the Pacific Northwest, renowned for its natural beauty and great quality of life.
PhD students receive fully funded fellowships, including tuition, a stipend, and benefits. Students focusing on architectural topics are also eligible for the Marion Dean Ross fellowship.
