`PRODUKTE | PRODUCTS´ Design and Research in Architecture & Landscape

Online

Symposium and PhD Peer Review, Leibniz Universität Hannover
21st – 23rd April 2022 | Online
11th International Symposium on Design and Research

Research-related design and design-related research in architecture, urban design and landscape architecture support, shape and generate products of specific figuration and quality. The symposium asks about the formation, effect and meaning of products in reflexive design. How can they be characterized? In which contexts and interactions are they generated? Which (trans-)disciplinary impulses and rational-creative crossings have an impact on the manifestations of design and research? What dimensions of high-quality design of the human living environment emerge and become perceptible, and what impulses for future-orientated action and new knowledge are gained? These questions are equally addressed to designers of architecture, urban space and landscape as well as to artistic actors and theorists.

The symposium focuses on the production and communication of knowledge about architecture and landscape architecture connected with  design-related research projects. The call is directed towards artists, theorists, practicing architects, urban designers, landscape  architects and to PhD students or early Post Docs of the disciplines.

The deadline for the call is 4 March 2022. More information can be found here.

Plant Histories, Plantation Architectures

Palm leaves loosely thatched create a bushy screen wall. The screen is part of a large building designed to shelter the pieces of other plants and make them dry out quickly. They are tobacco leaves, hanging from the rafters in neat rows swaying in the breeze. Nearby,...
